Frederic Giovannetti

38 years of international experience in settlement (assessment and management of social impacts) and environmental and social impact assessments (due diligence) gained through practical project experience in about 60 countries. Frederic is currently serving in the E&S Advisory Panel of Themis. After four years with NGO GRDR handling rural development projects in West Africa, he joined Burgéap, a consulting company specializing in environmental engineering and water development and protection, where he participated in water supply projects in Africa, led environmental studies in France and prepared an environmental and social impact assessment for a major infrastructure project in compliance with IFC policies also preparing the RAP, managing its implementation where 3,500 people were successfully resettled in a project that is considered a model until now. He also worked with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) focussing on environmental and social due diligence for EBRD investments in Russia, Georgia, the Western Balkans and Central Asia, usually high visibility Category “A” projects with significant civil society scrutiny. Frederic also operated his own independent consulting company focusing on resettlement, working for some of the largest corporations in the world as well as the leading DFIs. He holds a Master of Science degree from the Institut National Agronomique, France, specializing in biology, agronomy and environmental engineering. He is a citizen of Italy.
