18 years experience in the development, financing, construction and/or management of infrastructure assets in the energy, transport and ICT sectors.  Karim joined Themis in 2015 where he led the development of two hydropower projects in Cote d’Ivoire and Madagascar for an aggregate equity investment of USD 150 million. For each project, he supervised design studies, managed procurement and negotiation of key contracts, coordinated environmental and social studies and sourced financing. Prior to that, Karim held the position of Chief Investment Officer at the African Development Bank, where he led the sourcing, structuring, and due diligence process  on 7 private sector infrastructure transactions for aggregate loan investments of USD 400 million. At the AfDB, Karim also held board representation on several infrastructure equity funds, delivered advisory services to governments in the area of PPPs and managed the operationalization of the Africa50 fund. Karim started his career at Lucent Technologies in the UK and then at Siticom, a management consulting firm focused on the ICT sector, in Paris. Karim holds an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique and MBA from INSEAD. He is  a citizen of Tunisia and Belgium.
